FeisPix are pleased to have been selected by An Coimisiún as the sole official photographers for the 2008 All Ireland Championships and World Championships. We hope that the following information about our operation is useful to all competitors. If you require further information please do not hesitate to email us at johnegan@feispix.com
Our best wishes and congratulations to you all for competing at these wonderful events. See below for all the details you need, and click the pictures below to see larger versions.
At the All Ireland Championships the FeisPix studio will be located on the first floor of the Gleneagle INEC, Killarney, above the vendors and practice area. This floor is called the Mporium.
At the World Championships the FeisPix studio will be located on the floor above the main foyer of the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, and is accessed via the central staircase or lift.
No appointment is necessary for a studio photograph. Just come along, see our pricelist (there are no hidden extras such as a sitting fee), tell us what sizes and quantity you want, be photographed within minutes, pay your money and pick up your photos later that day. Our prices begin at £4.00 for a key ring.
We can provide sizes up to 24”x16” for you to take away.
Special themed photo mounts will be designed for each event. In the case of the All Ireland the design will incorporate scenes of Killarney. This is the front cover - click it to see a full-size PDF (515 KB) of the mount, inside and out
But please come early in the day. Photos taken late in the day may not be ready for collection until next day. We will do our best to meet your pick-up time before your departure. If you are unable to wait for collection we will mail your photos within a given timescale.
At both events our aim is to photograph all contestants, standing and dancing, but due to operational contingencies we are unable to guarantee this. Proofs of stage photos will be available for viewing within say, two hours after each competition. If you are unable to view the proofs before departure, please tell us before you leave and your proofs will be emailed to you for a nominal fee of £3.00 pounds.
Stage solo photos can be purchased individually or we can create a larger montage/collage/composite of up to five action shots and include your name in the caption. (See examples below and on ORDER page.)
Proofs of award photos will also be available to view soon after the event. Award photos (thumbnails) will also be displayed on our website www.feispix.com
Proofs of ceili and dance drama action will be available within hours after each event. Thumbnails of these will also be published on our website www.feispix.com
We will not publish solo action shots from these championships on our website. But please be aware that céilí, dance drama and award photo thumbnails will be available to view on www.feispix.com
FeisPix contributes Irish dance photos to the press and to CLRG for publicity and PR purposes. It also uses images for display on its own notice board for internal publicity purposes. We will not display photographs that we deem to be inappropriately revealing and we will endeavour personally to censor all images that could be construed not to portray the subject in a good light. But do bear in mind, we are not expert in perfect dance movement and posture, and dance photographs, particularly the rapid movements involved in Irish dancing, can only depict a very brief moment (possibly 1/200 sec) in a step, which might not necessarily convey its overall execution.

This UK weekly newspaper, which is also available in Ireland in Easons and other main newsagents, gives more coverage to Irish dancing than any other newspaper worldwide. Its coverage amounts to a minimum of one full page each week, to which John Egan of FeisPix contributes a weekly dance article with photos from feiseanna and major events. Wherever possible your permission for publication of your photo will be sought beforehand by FeisPix but in the case of large groups such as presentations or figure dancing it is not practicable to seek permission of all dancers involved. If you do not wish your photo to be published please advise a member of the FeisPix team so that your details can be recorded in order to exclude you from newspaper publicity. You can see an example of just some of last year’s All Ireland and World coverage by the Irish Post by clicking the picture below to access a full-size PDF (405 KB) of the page.
